The parish office handles the day-to-day life of the Parish of St Peter & St Paul: baptism and marriage bookings, Mass intentions, funeral arrangements, baptismal and confirmation certificates, and requests to use the basilica or the parish halls. If you are unsure who to ask, write or call the office and you will be pointed to the right person.
Visiting the basilica
The basilica stands on Pjazza 28 ta’ April 1688, at the centre of Nadur on the eastern hill of Gozo. It is open around the times of Mass, and visitors are welcome outside the liturgy. Groups wishing to visit with a guide, or anyone hoping to see the sacristy, the museum or the belfry, should contact the office in advance so that a warden can be arranged.
Certificates and records
Baptismal, confirmation and marriage certificates are issued by the parish office. Requests are best made by email, giving the full name of the person, the approximate date of the sacrament and the reason for the request. Records for Nadur begin in 1688, when the parish was erected; enquiries about earlier dates should be directed to the Diocese of Gozo.
Mass intentions
Mass intentions may be arranged in person at the office during opening hours, or by telephone. Intentions for the anniversaries of the dead, and for the feasts of the liturgical year, are best requested well in advance, as the calendar of the basilica fills early.
